The EC&I V&V team are responsible for delivering the verification of the next-generation Rolls-Royce nuclear reactor control system. What you will be doing: You will be responsible for helping ensure the efficient and safe operation of the Verification & Validation Test Facilities. This includes: Operation of several hardware-in-the-loop, real-time test systems Working with the test rig vendor to design and deliver new test systems to meet capability requirements. Calibration and config control of test kit Performing regular maintenance checks on test rigs to ensure safety and quality Working with the test team to understand and resolve technical issues with the test hardware and testing architecture. Maintaining the safe and efficient operation of a working facility, with duties including: Procurement and outfitting of test equipment and test hardware Planning and delivering installations of Submarines equipment to meet program demands Assisting test engineers with day-to-day facility operations Ensuring safe working practice Who we’re looking for: At Rolls-Royce we put safety first, do the right thing, keep it simple and make a difference. Essential: Degree qualified in one of the following disciplines: Electronic, Electrical, Control, Systems or Software Engineering. (Those with Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, Physics or other STEM degree will also be considered if relevant experience can be demonstrated.) Analytical and logical mind with numeracy and literacy skills. Beneficial: A good technical understanding of electrical/electronic control systems. Hardware in the Loop test experience. Experience operating/maintaining/calibrating test rigs and using test equipment such as DMMs, oscilloscopes etc. Ability to interpret electrical schematics and perform fault finding. Good knowledge of the product design lifecycle including design optioneering, problem solving, definition, verification and validation, justification and safety and final acceptance.
