Group Summary
The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

This position reports directly to the Dept. Manager and is responsible for the general and specific job duties as described below:
Your Responsibilities
1. Exhibit a fair and consistent management approach that follows the principles outlined in The Magna Employee’s Charter to ensure a satisfied and productive employee workplace.
2. Identify growth and developmental opportunities and on-going training needs of personnel that will provide for an overall positive working environment.
3. Follow Company policies and display conduct expected of Decostar employees as described in the employee handbook.
4. Support the following of Company policies and business objectives in the daily management of the operations of the Company.
5. Meet and maintain all customer quality standards as well as the standards of Decostar.
6. Direct and follow Decostar Industries health and safety policies and procedures that provide for a safe and healthful workplace for all Decostar Industries employees, contractors and visitors.
7. Exemplify the Charter principle for a safe and healthful workplace by correcting unsafe behaviors, eliminate or reduce the possibility of an employee injury due to hazardous conditions.
8. Respond positively and proactively to any Decostar employee’s health and safety concern or suggestion.
9. Report any accidents, incidents or near misses to the Safety Department and complete the required Accident Reporting Forms within 24 hours.
10. Complete all required safety-related inspections.
11. Ensure all employees, under your guidance, have received all required training to perform their job safely.
12. Manage all aspects of The Magna Employee’s Charter and ensure that the charter is adhered to by all Decostar staff by providing guidance and leading by example.
13. Provide automation/robotic technical support to all pertinent production department employees.
14. Participate in new program launch activities to assist in the identification, installation and commissioning of the needed capital assets to support production requirements.
15. Coordinate training activities for appropriate personnel regarding the design intent, operation, and maintenance of automation and/or robotic system equipment.
16. Provide engineering support to the Manager of Operations regarding automated and robotic systems.
17. Participate fully in Decostar continuous improvement team activities as directed by the Manager of Operations.
18. Coordinate new projects and/or engineering modifications as assigned, ensuring all work is in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
19. Assume project management responsibilities for any project assigned by the Manager of Operations and ensure that all timelines are met.
20. Assist in writing bid specifications for potential vendors for specific projects and create bid comparison matrices for vendor selection.
21. Provide regular progress reports on the timeline schedules for all projects.
22. Continuously review and consider new technologies applicable to Decostar Industries.
23. Provide automation and robotics support as required for all aspects of current and future production systems.
24. Perform other duties as directed.
Your preferred qualifications
1. Must have 4 years minimum experience in programming Fanuc, Sepro, Motoman and/or other robot systems.
2. Must have two years minimum experience in programming PLC’s.
3. Two years minimum experience in creating drawings in AutoCAD 2010 or newer preferred.
4. Must be experienced in reading mechanical, system and layout drawings.
5. Must exhibit strong PC skills.
6. Must have strong engineering project management experience.
7. Must have a demonstrated understanding of electrical and mechanical equipment and operational principles of mechanical components and systems.
8. Demonstrated exceptional oral and written communication skills required.
9. Demonstrated excellent leadership skills required.
10. Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study required. Minimum ten years work related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
