Health Care Assistant - 30 Hours - General Practice - 12 Month Contract

Main Duties of the Job
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist healthcare professionals in the surgery with patient care.
2. Perform basic medical procedures such as phlebotomy, ECGs, taking blood pressure, NHS health checks, and assisting with flu vaccinations.
3. Provide support to the Staff Nurse in all possible ways.
4. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality.
5. Assist with the general day-to-day operations of the surgery.
About Us
The GP Practice is located in Stalybridge City Centre close to the bus and train station. We are housed in a large Victorian building with plenty of accommodation. We are part of Stalybridge, Mossley and Dukinfield Primary Care Network, and the Network hub is situated on the first floor of the surgery building.
Job Responsibilities
We are seeking an enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join our established team and be a part of a GP Surgery that really makes a difference. The role of HCA is an essential part of our GP Practice team who provide the full range of NHS Primary Medical Services. You will be working alongside our friendly and patient-focused clinical and management teams, providing essential support and delivering the best care to all our patients. You must work with autonomy and a high degree of confidentiality, sensitivity, discretion, empathy, and tact.

Role Requirements
* Undertake tasks and duties delegated by the clinical and management teams.
* Perform procedures such as blood pressure and new patient checks.
* Conduct home visits for bloods and ECGs.
* Assist in Minor Surgery.
* Advise patients on healthcare, health promotion, and illness prevention.
* Order supplies and equipment.
* Demonstrate an understanding of General Practice.
* Ensure fridge temperatures are monitored daily.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Previous experience as a healthcare assistant in General Practice is preferred.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* A compassionate and patient-focused attitude.
