Scottish Power Renewables are looking for 2 Offshore Construction Supervisors to join them based in Lowestoft. These will be 2 week rotational roles.
Role: Offshore Construction Supervisor
Business: Scottish Power Renewables - East Anglia Three
Duration: 12 month initial contract
Location: Lowestoft Site Based
Rate: Inside IR35, Umbrella and PAYE options available
Working Pattern: 2 week on 2 week off
Main Purpose of Job
The position will work within the project construction team reporting to the Construction Services Manager and Offshore Support Engineer. Key areas associated are:
Supervising on a daily basis offshore the construction services contractor offshore teams ensuring they are adhering to QHSE policies and procedures
Ensuring the construction services contractor offshore teams are adhering to their risk assessments and method statements for the offshore works
Ensure SPR interests are protected offshore
Responsible for supporting the Construction Services Offshore Support Engineer in the coordination of all offshore construction support services
Assist with preparing resource plans and works forecasts associated with the offshore work scopes and teams
Ensuring the construction services contractor has the correct equipment and tools available to complete the planned scopes
Assist with all the offshore construction services scope of works for unscheduled maintenance including all offshore safety equipment monitoring.
Is aware of the contractors on site and all relevant team leaders of the contractors working for the project and daily coordination
Setting to work the construction services contractor offshore teams
Ensure that the construction offshore support works are completed to specification and schedules, review completion certificates etc. prior to submission to the onshore construction team
Key Tasks
Review, contractor risk assessment and method statements and ATW’s and hold toolbox talks with the construction services contractor teams prior to setting to work
Produce risk assessments and method statements for offshore works
Produce and submit daily reports for the offshore works, reporting on progress against the plan
Consulting with the Construction Services Contractor Project Manager, team leaders and Storeman daily for the organisation of materials and equipment to complete the offshore works.
Ensure the CTV’s are fully equipped with rescue kits, radios and medical bags on a daily basis prior to sailing, ensuring rescue and medical kits are certified
Complete asset walk downs
Complete pre / post job and asset handover walkdown check lists.
Collate and report offshore defect reports via the correct SPR channels
Inspect offshore work including snagging works to ensure they meet the required standards
Snagging works to be progressed for review / close out in the SPR snagging system
Obtain before and after works asset photos and submit to onshore
Assist with the coordination of crew changes
Participation on regular coordination meetings for ensuring the continuous and smooth delivery of services provided
Assist with preparing resource allocation plan in relation to offshore works ensuring the correct competencies to complete the work are available within the offshore teams
Assist with the planning of the contractor works for the upcoming days / weeks to avoid interferences and delays
Coordinate provision of spares, consumables, tools, and equipment, with the Contractor Supervisor and Contractor Project Manager
Manage all offshore HSE and Quality issues and immediately communicate with the respective parties regarding the nature of events / incidents / problems during construction
Assist with asset walk downs prior and after contractor work scopes
During Weather days
Ensure the construction services contractor has approved ATW’s in place prior to offshore works commencing
Ensure equipment and tools are prepared for the remainder of the trip and back to back trips
Lease with construction services contractor teams and HSE Advisors to perform rescue drills and rescue kit familiarisation
Participates in offshore team coordination meetings
Attend the office and assist the Construction Offshore Support Engineer and the Contractors Project Manager with day to day tasks
End of Trip Reporting
Produce end of trip summary report(s) for work completed, works outstanding
Produce end of trip handover
Key Criteria
Minimum 5 years’ experience working as an Offshore Supervisor in the renewables sector
Must hold and maintain full GWO training, and offshore medical certificates
Proven ability to work offshore
Significant administrative background
Advanced awareness of Health and Safety related to construction
Proven ability to work in a construction site’s environment
Excellent IT Skills are essential
Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, to collaborate effectively with the wider project team including third parties, contractors, and subcontractors
