SEN Teaching Assistant - Torquay & Paignton Daily Rate: £85 - £90 per day Location: Torquay & Paignton Contract Type: Temporary/Contract (with potential for long-term roles) Hours: Full-time About the Role: Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join schools in the Torquay & Paignton area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of young learners. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators) to provide tailored support to pupils with a variety of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other learning challenges. Responsibilities: Providing one-to-one or small-group support to pupils with SEN to help them access the curriculum. Assisting teachers in planning and delivering tailored learning activities. Encouraging positive behaviour and helping to create a safe and inclusive learning environment. Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development. Using a range of strategies to manage classroom behaviour and address individual needs. Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external professionals to monitor and report on pupil progress. Requirements: Experience working with children is essential —whether in a school, childcare, or youth work setting. A calm, patient, and empathetic approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with children. Understanding of SEN and strategies for supporting pupils with additional needs (desirable but not essential; training can be provided). Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
