Working Hours: Continental Shifts (7am-7pm/7pm-7am – 4on 4off)
Job Description:
As a Instrument Technician, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining high health, safety, and environmental standards. Your expertise in electrical and distribution systems will ensure seamless operations across the site. Key responsibilities include:
* Conducting planned and breakdown maintenance.
* Diagnosing and resolving plant breakdowns.
* Performing electrical inspections, fault diagnosis, and repairs.
* Contributing to continuous improvement projects and upholding ISO standards.
* Supporting team training to achieve multidisciplinary skills.
This position is integral to minimizing plant downtime and ensuring a smooth production schedule. You will work closely with process operators and vendors to enhance operational efficiency.
Skills & Experience:
* Time-served apprenticeship in Instrumentation, Control, or Electrical discipline.
* Minimum 2 years of post-apprenticeship experience in Process or Chemical Plant maintenance.
* Proficient in electrical drives, MCC, and distribution systems.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Familiarity with DSEAR regulations and hazardous area inspections.
* Knowledge of PH flow and level controls
* Exposure and knowledge of PLC’s
* Experience of working upon pneumatics would be advantageous for this role
* Knowledge of ventilation, air conditioning, lighting, and UPS systems.
* Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
* ONC qualification or equivalent / time served apprenticeship
