Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for an exciting opportunity to join a thriving veterinary practice? Look no further! A sustainable and proudly independent small animal practice in Birmingham is actively expanding after being open for just under two years. They are committed to providing exceptional veterinary care and nurturing a supportive environment for their staff members.
This is the place where you can develop your skills and you will have the clinical freedom to explore your interests, and support and advice will always be available from the team of 2/3 vets, 1.5 RVNs, 3 ACAs, groomer and 2 receptionists, actively developing and expanding.
The practice features a spacious dog and separate cat waiting area, a dedicated pharmacy, a dog groomer, three consultation rooms, and a staff room/kitchen with a large table and reclining sofa. They have a separate dental/dirty procedure room with all necessary instruments, a sterile theatre for routine and emergency surgeries, two ultrasound machines, cat and dog kennels, a spacious prep room and digital X-ray facilities. Our well-equipped laboratory includes state-of-the-art Idexx hematology and biochemistry machines, a microscope, and the capability to perform in-house scrapes and swabs, with the support of two external laboratories.
They are a family-friendly practice and will make sure your job coordinates with your private life instead of taking the first place. The practice manager has years of experience in HR work and is always keen to help and make everything work. They believe communication is the key. The team is small and easy-going with a mixture of all ages and personalities, you just need to meet them in person!
The ideal candidate will be a 5-6 years experienced veterinary surgeon looking for a mix of consultations and surgeries, inpatient care and the opportunity to expand your interests. A newly renovated 2-bed apartment (pets allowed) with a fully-equipped kitchen and bathroom is available for relocation assistance.
You will be working in a lovely residential area in the north of Birmingham, with excellent restaurants, bars and schools all within close range. Birmingham's lively city centre provides a plethora of recreational activities, from shopping in bustling markets to exploring green spaces and historic landmarks. With excellent transport links, you can easily explore the surrounding countryside or even venture to other major cities for weekend getaways.
Role:
* 5 days a week, Monday to Friday (10:30am - 6:30pm or 8:30am - 4:30pm)
* 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, 9am - 1pm
