Product Engineering at JLR is centred on innovation and creativity. From advanced driver assistance systems to developing the future of electric propulsion, the opportunities to create exceptional experiences for the future of motoring are wide-ranging. You'll work alongside industry experts to drive product strategy, manage programs, analyse performance, and lead transformation initiatives. Exceptional careers that bring world-renowned vehicles to life start here.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Join JLR as a Lead MBSE Systems Engineer – Chassis and play a pivotal role in advancing our Chassis Engineering department.
We are looking for an accomplished engineer ready to drive innovation and help shape the future of automotive technology. In this exciting position, you will be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge multidisciplinary features for our iconic vehicles.
As the Lead MBSE Systems Engineer, you will orchestrate the deployment of our in-house developed Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodology across chassis engineering teams. Your expertise in Systems Modelling Language (SysML) will be essential as you model customer-facing features from early definition through systems architecture development. You will guide and advise chassis engineers, ensuring the adoption of best practices that enhance our engineering processes.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
1. Support the features, attributes, and systems owners to model the chassis engineering systems of interest using the JLR MBSE methodology underpinned by SysML.
2. Coach the MBSE methodology, SysML language, and the Dassault Systems MBSE industry solution (i.e. CATIA Magic or MSOSA and 3DExperience-TRM).
3. Author and publish a body of knowledge by documenting the best practices via piloted examples.
4. Define and document the methodology or tool chain-specific work instructions (where missing or necessary) to deliver the model’s lifecycle management guideline(s) from its creation to its reusability across other models, and traceability with the other disciplines.
5. Review and ensure that the necessary models produced by the teams have consistent deployment of MBSE and requirements engineering guidelines thereby adhering to the defined systems engineering process/methodology/standards.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
1. Proven experience in applying the SE standard (e.g. ISO15288), Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodology (e.g. Magic Grid, SysML/UML, and requirements management on complex systems – ideally within the Automotive Sector).
2. Proficient in using MBSE tools e.g. MSOSA/CATIA Magic and Requirements Management tool i.e. Traceable Requirements Management (TRM).
3. Good experience of conducting training sessions, and influencing others with regards to Systems Engineering principles and MBSE practices.
4. Track record as an effective team player with strong interpersonal skills.
5. Relevant experience in system definition, system architecture development, requirements specification, design/performance modelling, systems integration, system assessment, and acceptance.
