About the role
Reporting to the Head of Content, this newly-created role comes at an exciting time for The Independent’s long-running travel franchise, Travel Smart. You’ll be at the forefront of helping to develop the next chapter for the show, working alongside our hugely experienced travel desk to create first-in-class travel content that people really want to watch.
We’re looking for an experienced producer director with a strong background in travel, who is passionate about creating dynamic digital content, and who understands the importance of putting our audience’s viewing habits - and great editorial story-telling - at the heart of every episode. You’ll be confident to work with, and nurture, our in house talent, and be a passionate ideas person who’s always thinking about what we can do next.
You’ll work with key stakeholders across the business, including working closely with our commercial team, Ignite, on potential partnerships for Travel Smart. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team, at a time when The Independent is putting video at the heart of their future plans.
You Will Be:
* A highly organised and detail-oriented professional with a passion for multimedia production. You thrive in a dynamic environment and are comfortable juggling multiple tasks while maintaining a focus on quality and deadlines.
* Responsible for managing the end-to-end production of Travel Smart, the Independent’s flagship travel programme including planning and pre-production.
* A confident self-shooting producer director with a background in Travel.
* A strong editor with a proven background in editing YouTube style shows.
* Confident in recording and monitoring sound.
* Skilled at working with a variety of talent and confident to help nurture them to develop their on camera performances.
* A strong script writer who is comfortable developing ideas alongside our specialist and skilled travel team.
* Enthusiastic about what makes great content; always looking for new inspiration and ways that Independent TV can move our travel output forward.
* Confident to pitch to commercial clients, selling in our travel content for potential branded partnerships.
