We are looking for Theatre Support Assistants to join our team working across Theatres and Post Op Recovery in our brand new East Midlands Planned Care Centre.
The East Midlands Planned Care Centre will see a high volume of patient's per day. It will be a fast paced environment and will require a highly motivated, adaptable candidate. They will need to have a pro active approach to their daily tasks
Previous Theatre experience would be desirable with this role although not essential, a current care certificate OR equivalent are essential, and knowledge around the role and responsibilities would be beneficial. Training will be provided to ensure patient safety and knowledge of different specialties.

Evidence of a Care Certificate OR equivalent experience is essential for this role.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will support registered Theatre Practitioners within the peri-operative environments performing duties within theatres/recovery, assisting with patient care.
The Senior Theatre Support Worker is a technical role that assumes a number of responsibilities such as, but not limited to: ensuring theatres and equipment/devices/sets are clean and ready for patient surgeries, assisting with safe and correct placement of patients pre/post-surgery, circulating within theatres during surgery and also responsibility for providing personal and clinical care where necessary.
Inputting data into electronic care plans including recording of implant details for traceability, carrying out surgical swab counts with the scrub nurse. Undertaking clinical observations and other interventions as delegated by registered practitioners.
Successful candidates will be delivering all aspects of peri-operative care. Candidate will be multi-skilled and rotate between specialties and areas within the department. Applicants must be committed to delivering high quality patient care, focusing on safety & patient experience, whilst recognising own limitations, and working within the scope of their role at all times.

Theatres work long days, Monday-Saturday and specialties include General Surgery, Urology, Gynaecology, Ophthamology & ENT.
