Qualification and Experience
1. Qualified Teacher Status
2. Degree qualification or equivalent
3. Demonstrable achievements in excellence as a teacher
4. Primary and secondary teachers are welcome to apply
5. We are keen to hear from applicants who specialise in maths and/or English, but we welcome all subject specialisms
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
1. Expert understanding of innovative pedagogy
2. Experience of assessment without levels including tracking pupil progress
3. Knowledge and understanding of statutory assessment arrangements at the various key stages
4. Knowledge and understanding of effective strategies to manage the behaviour of pupils
5. Excellent knowledge of inclusion and equality, including SEMH, EAL, bilingual learners, ethnic minority, gender etc.
6. Excellent understanding of safeguarding, especially the safety and welfare of vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils
7. Expert knowledge of strategies for closing the gap
8. The ability and willingness to teach a range of subjects
9. Contribution to the educational and social development of each young person
10. The ability to form effective relationships with young people, their families (if appropriate) and external agencies
11. To ensure that young people’s views and wishes are sought and acted upon where appropriate
12. Ensure that appropriate resources and environment exist for individual pupils referred to the service, and that opportunity for inclusion are available to all our students
13. To liaise with other teachers and teaching assistants in the team to ensure effective deployment of resources
