POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for managing the Mechanical Design & CAD team in relation to specific projects, programs, products or sustaining activities for Advanced Energy High Voltage Engineering Team. Responsible for overseeing and managing allocated resources devoted to key technology and product development, and responding to customer and supplier inquiries/requests as necessary.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Accountability for all Mechanical Design & CAD function deliverables to meet timeline and cost targets, including:
1. Working closely with Project Managers to allocate and manage resource assignments for new developments.
2. Assign and manage resource for legacy support tasks and supplier support.
3. Monitor corrective actions, assign resource and ensure actions are closed.
4. Ensure documentation package is completed for production releases.
2. Manage the full cycle of the engineering process from raising through implementation and release to closure.
3. Checking and approval of drawings to ensure correct standards have been adhered to.
4. Manage document creation (specifications, handbooks, test procedures etc.).
5. Oversee the development of in-house Mechanical & CAD integration tools to streamline the development/documentation release process.
6. Keep abreast of new technology developments in CAD and mechanical design and encourage the team to innovate.
7. Continually challenge and propose new procedures, processes and ways of working.
8. Recruits as required to meet capacity needs, retains, mentors and develops the skills and training/development plans for direct reports.
Ensure all direct reports undertake their duties in compliance with company policies and procedures at all times and in a professional manner (Health and Safety, Environmental, Compliance, Ethics).

EXPERIENCE:
1. 8 years minimum experience in an electronics development environment.
2. Previous experience managing engineering projects or small engineering teams.
3. Proven leadership experience for any group size.
4. Proficient in 2D and 3D modeling (preferably ProE/Creo) and MS Windows applications.

Essential:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering
