Food Technology Teaching Assistant
Contract type: Permanent
Hours of work: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8.45 am - 3.15 pm and Tuesday and Thursday 8.45 am - 4.30 pm
Work pattern: 32.5 hours per week (which will require flexibility at certain times of the year), Term time only (39 weeks)
Salary information: Scale 4, £22,858 - £23,859 per annum (dependent upon experience) + Special Schools Allowance, £1,161 per annum

Meadow High School is a special needs school, which provides education for secondary aged students aged 11-19 years with moderate and complex needs including autism. The school had received a ‘Good’ grade by OFSTED.
The successful candidate for this varied post will support the food technology teacher and pupils in the smooth running of the Food Technology department. The main responsibilities include supporting students in the classroom, preparing materials to help their learning and using ICT to create resources and orders. This is a rewarding role and would be suited to an enthusiastic team player, with a knowledge of working with food. The successful candidate needs to have the ability to work flexibly and meet deadlines.

Applicants must have:
* Hold an NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistants.
* A knowledge of Health & Safety requirements in a kitchen environment.
* Proficient in the use of Word, Excel and Google Drive.
* An excellent level of Literacy and Numeracy skills.
* A desire to work with students with moderate and complex learning difficulties.
* Good communication skills.
* Enthusiasm for supporting children and their learning.
* The ability to work well on your own and as part of a team.
* A positive attitude and sense of humour.
* A willingness to learn new skills.
* The successful applicant must have a high standard of written and spoken English.
