An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pathway Co-ordinator to support the ENT department in the Directorate of Head and Neck. You will be an integral part of the team acting as a direct link between secretaries, patients and clinicians.
Applicants must have excellent organisational skills, be extremely efficient and be able to work under pressure as part of a large team and to tight deadlines. You must be able to prioritise and manage a busy workload and be committed to delivering the best care to patients. NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience are essential, you must have significant administration experience as well as patient pathway experience. You should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages (including Outlook and Excel) this is essential.

Job responsibilities
PLEASE REFER TO THE ATTACHED JOB DESCRIPTION FOR FULL DUTIES OF THE ROLE.
* To monitor all waiting lists and patient pathways for the Directorate, to ensure all patients are managed within local and national referral to treatment timescales, validating pathways in real time.
* To monitor all patients referred to the Directorate under a Cancer pathway referral, to highlight any areas of concern in the pathway and to ensure the cancer waiting times are achieved. This will involve working closely with Cancer Services Team.
* To provide an early warning system to Directorate Managers regarding waiting times, demand and capacity issues within the Directorate.
* To use the Trust's Launchpad, to review and monitor patient pathways, working with information services and the performance team, to ensure robust processes are in place to monitor and highlight performance for the directorate.
* To work without direct supervision and exercise significant initiative and independent judgement in managing this large area and workload.
* To liaise with consultants, personal medical secretaries, directorate managers and the Cancer Services team, to ensure all patients are managed within 18 weeks/national waiting times and where this is deficient, participate in the development of actions to rectify the position.

Qualifications

* Understanding of the 18-week RTT standard and application of rules through strict guidance.

* GCSE (Grade A-C or O level education (Grade A-C) or Equivalent.
* Level 3 Qualification in a relevant subject or relevant experience.

* EDL, RSA CLAIT or IBT2.
* Data protection.
* IM & T Security Knowledge.
* Ability to use CHS Data Launchpad Reports.
