Role: Transport Supervisor
Location: Ashford, Middlesex
Hours: Monday - Friday
Salary: up to £38,000 DOE
An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Transport Supervisor to join our client's successful team in Ashford, Middlesex.

About the role:
Responsible for overseeing daily transportation operations including driver management, vehicle scheduling and management of the Transport Office, to include the Transport Scheduler and Transport Co-ordinator. Ensure continual compliance with transport laws and regulations, ensure that all vehicles are meticulously maintained, and all service and repair schedules are adhered to.
The Transport Supervisor will work closely with the Depot Manager to monitor transport costs, maximise fleet efficiency, and achieve exemplary delivery performance, whilst ensuring that all staff training is up to date.
Duties of Transport Supervisor:
1. Supervision and support of Transport Scheduler and Transport Co-ordinator
2. Provide efficient and effective scheduling and planning of all deliveries and installations
3. Ensure that a sufficient number of crew are trained to the correct levels
4. Maintain the skills matrix and training records
5. Manage the day-to-day relationship with partners and subcontractors
6. Monitor quality and performance of partners and subcontractors
7. Be available on-call via mobile phone on a rota basis, to deal with vehicle and staff issues
8. Liaise with warehouse to ensure sufficient resources for vehicles loading and unloading
9. Ensure all transport office responsibilities are completed daily
10. Monitor, manage and update Transport KPI's
11. Conduct new staff interviews, inductions and training plans
12. Ensure staff comply with all Driving and Working regulations for hours e.g. Working Time Directive
13. Escalate any issues to the Depot Manager as required
14. Review processes and systems and suggest improvements
15. Manage the process for parking tickets and congestion charges, investigate circumstances and take action
What we would like from you:
* International CPC Holder (preferred)
* Two or more years' experience as a Transport manager (preferred)
* Experience of managing staff and HGV Vehicles
* Good people management skills
* Good team member who can also work on own initiative
* A flexible and can-do attitude
* Driving licence (HGV preferred)
