Working with the existing Finance team to ensure that monthly management accounts are completed accurately and within very tight, month end timescales. This key finance position will require the candidate to work closely with operational managers and they will be expected to provide non-finance people with sound advice and guidance on how to complete transactions in a way that ensures the corresponding financials are accurate.

Description
1. Driving and owning the month end process for our UK manufacturing subsidiary whilst maintaining timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with accepted accounting principles.
2. Reviewing monthly results, carrying out timely investigations and making appropriate decisions on the required corrections.
3. Preparation of all monthly statutory requirements, including UK VAT Returns and VAT, EC Sales Listing & Intrastat for NL VAT registration.
4. Documenting and maintaining complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions.
5. Ensuring the accuracy, integrity and integration of all financial data.
6. Working closely with the Senior and EU Management Accountants to facilitate and complete the consolidated monthly management accounts.
7. Work with wider international finance team to consolidate financial filings and prepare intercompany allocations.
8. Working with the company external auditors to ensure that all annual statutory reporting is completed on time or early.
9. Working collaboratively with other departments, particularly material control and production, to ensure effective management of inventory and in compliance with financial processes and procedures.
10. Reconciliation of inter-company balances and preparation of relevant elimination journals.
11. Ongoing review of multi-currency cashflows and preparation of cashflow forecasting across multiple bank accounts.
12. Preparation of monthly payroll journals and associated salary payments including all local tax and social security payments.
Profile
1. 5 years of prior experience in a well-established SME organisation in a management accounts or equivalent position.
2. Recent experience and solid understanding of working within a manufacturing background or product-based industry, with a good understanding in all areas of the business operation.
3. Prior experience of working in a global organisation, where your reporting line may have been outside of the UK.
4. Experience of VAT Returns is essential.
5. Understanding of Intrastat and EC Sales requirements desirable.
6. Strong import and export knowledge would be advantageous.
7. Strong Excel skills and competent in other Microsoft Office applications.
8. Prior experience with Netsuite would be preferred but not essential.
9. Competent in problem-solving, with the ability to work collaboratively with other areas of the business to investigate issues and identify resolutions.
