Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and dynamic Business Development Manager to oversee and grow the business at The Coal Shed. You will be responsible for managing incoming inquiries, identifying new opportunities to increase revenue, forging and nurturing relationships with potential partners, and managing the venue’s event calendar. This is a key role in driving business performance and developing strategies that will enhance the restaurant’s reputation and profitability. Above all, you will be dedicated to creating exceptional guest experiences and ensuring guests always feel welcome to return.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Strategy:
1. Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and increase revenue at The Coal Shed.
2. Identify new business opportunities, including partnerships, collaborations, and events.
3. Proactively seek out and create opportunities for brand promotion and exposure.
4. Oversee the venue’s event calendar, ensuring a consistent flow of high-quality events that drive footfall and revenue.
2. Managing Inquiries & Customer Relationships:
1. Handle all incoming inquiries, responding promptly and professionally.
2. Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, suppliers, and potential clients.
3. Always look for ways to improve the customer experience, ensuring every interaction exceeds expectations.
4. Ensure that all guests feel valued and welcome, creating an environment that encourages repeat visits.
3. Event Management:
1. Oversee in-house events, ensuring they are effectively promoted and executed.
2. Work closely with the team to ensure seamless coordination of events, from initial planning through to delivery.
3. Maximize revenue through event-related upselling and additional services.
4. Marketing & Promotion:
1. Identify opportunities to advertise and promote The Coal Shed through various channels, including social media, email marketing, and local media.
2. Develop marketing initiatives that raise awareness of the restaurant, driving traffic and generating sales.
5. Revenue Generation & Performance Tracking:
1. Continuously evaluate and optimize strategies to maximize revenue generation.
2. Utilize guest feedback and data insights to refine the customer experience.
3. Track sales performance and report regularly on progress, providing recommendations for growth.
Skills & Experience
1. Proven experience in business development, sales, or a similar role, preferably within the hospitality or restaurant industry.
2. Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and the local community.
3. Demonstrated experience in driving revenue and achieving business targets.
4. Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
5. A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for the restaurant industry.
6. Familiarity with event management and marketing strategies.
7. A data-driven approach to continuously improve customer experiences and revenue generation.
