Description As Underwriting Assistant, you will provide operational support and partner with the underwriting Teams to deliver a high-quality client service by taking ownership of the operational functions allowing focus on production and underwriting. You will ensure that all core Operations tasks are completed to a high level of accuracy promoting a culture of right first time whilst supporting achievement of all internal SLA’s / TAT’s. Key Responsibilities: Build and maintain excellent working relationships with Operations and underwriting teams and ensure that underwriting Teams are regularly communicated with and kept updated on appropriate issues. Ensure minimum booking requirements are received from Underwriting and all booking instructions are quality checked adopting ‘right first time’ approach prior to issuance to the booking team and quality measures are reported and acted upon. Ensure all core Underwriting Assistant tasks, including but not limited to bookings, policy documents and endorsements are quality checked and completed to a high level of accuracy. Real time and accurate updates in the Workview system aligned with the Operations SLA’s to ensure accurate representation of Ops performance to Snr Management Proactive engagement with UW Teams to obtain timely instructions on all outstanding renewals to achieve our Premium registration targets. To assist in the operations owned processing of allocated new business, renewals, and endorsements to service standards. Liaise within Operations and internal departments, participating in meetings as required. Work with Operations and in conjunction with the underwriting teams to ensure efficient working practices and identify process improvements. Support Projects and testing as and when required. Adherence and promotion of best practice Support the Business with adoption of any system and/or process change. Provide training to Underwriting Assistants. To work within the framework of Chubb’s Ethical and Service Standards. Provide general operational assistance on our E-trading platforms Liaise with internal departments including credit control, claims, system support teams to highlight and fix defects Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with other functions. Qualifications Knowledge & Experience: Previous experience in an underwriting support role will be looked upon favourably Minimum GCSE, but preferably A level standard (or equivalent) Competent in Microsoft Office. Expected to undertake training/progressing through professional examinations
