What you'll do: This position is for a Systems Engineering (SE) Lead Engineer supporting research and new product development in Eaton's Mission Systems Division (MSD). The Systems Engineer is responsible for requirements management, system architecture development, and supporting system integration and test. The candidate will be an individual contributor alongside other SE engineers based in UK and in Global Teams. The product and systems are thermal fluid and dynamic mechanical systems that support aerospace applications. These aerospace applications are diverse and will primarily include aircraft refueling, and weapons storage and release systems. The Systems Engineer should be self-motivated to proactively learn about the technical domain of the given system and identify how and where the systems engineering discipline can create the highest value. A primary function of this role will be to develop and execute the plan to migrate the requirements management processes from CRADDLE to DOORS NG. Finally, the candidate should work as a member and partner of the product team generating SE work products and providing technical guidance to incorporate systems engineering methodologies. Other critical skills include technical leadership, project execution, and team collaboration. - Support Bid & Proposal Efforts: - Review customer requirements documents - Define areas of risk and updates - Develop SE estimates tailored to scope/need - Collaborate with product team to manage requirements: - Write, allocate, and trace. - Develop system/subsystem specifications. - Create and manage verification matrices. - Lead Efforts to Migrate from CRADDLE to DOORS NG / JAZZ - Manage Pilot Program for DOORS NG - Develop Requirements Management Plans - Develop Migration Plans from CRADDLE to DOORS NG - Roll Out Training Sessions for DOORS NG - Engineering Administrator of DOORS NG Tool for WIM SE team - Interface with IT as Needed to Support Requirements Management Tools - Leverage Training to Support Other US Based Divisions - Support Eaton Aerospace Process development - Contribute to team defining standard work document. - Develop process to identify level of systems engineering required for programs. - Develop metrics to measure SE process implementation. - Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Systems Engineering MSD - Develop skills matrix and training plans to build discipline capabilities within MSD - Develop SE implementation plans for each program based on value proposition. - Ability to define and "the right" solution for SE integration on programs Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline from an accredited institution. - Minimum 8 years of experience in aerospace industry as System Engineer - Minimum 5 years' experience using DOORS NG or DOORS - Minimum of 1 years of experience with MBSE using SySML language - Master's degree in System Engineering. - 2-5 years' Experience with CRADDLE - Master's degree in System Engineering. - 2-5 years' Experience with CRADDLE Skills: - Leader on engineering product team creating and delivering SE work products. - Demonstrated ability to balance SE discipline with product teams. - This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
