Managing the pipeline of loan deals to close and ensuring the staff are reviewing the Loan agreement to closing, with the requirement the deal can be serviced with documented processes and controls. In their day to day execution of duties to ensure timely completion of department obligations in adherence to head office rules and department procedures. It will be responsible for working autonomously to resolve operational issues as they arise and to achieve a satisfactory conclusion including where necessary the implementation of preventative measure to avoid reoccurrence. As part of the supervisory responsibilities associated with this role, staff are to be trained to a high standard and provided with appropriate tools that allow them to operate to the high standards expected by the bank. This role will be responsible for working collaboratively with peers in both Operations and beyond to achieve the common goals of the bank and the department. No of Direct Reports: 4-5 Essential Functions: Responsible for managing, coaching and steering Facility Onboarding team to ensure completion of accurate and timely closing of the Loan facility deals. Responsible for managing pipeline with the business areas for all Loan deal closing deals across EMEA Responsible for detailed facility agreement review to ensure the clauses as Agency. Security Trustee and Lender can be serviced with agreed processes, controls and system support prior to MUFG signing the executed agreement. Managing and steering the team to build the deals within Loan IQ, ensuring all data points are captured, for management of the loan after closing. Timely and detailed hand over of the Loan deal to the transaction management team and loan operation for servicing. Upskilling the team. Creating and maintaining procedure manuals and controls for accurate closure of the deals. Responsible for the facilitation of well-structured training and adequate supervision to ensure staff are well informed with the necessary tools and adequate oversight to perform their role well and to the standards expected by the Bank. Utilising expert knowledge of Loan Operations and MUFG systems, this role is responsible for guiding staff in the correct systematic capture of the facility to ensure correct registration at financial close, as well as the ongoing event management and servicing of the loan post financial close. Responsible for building effective relationships with all stakeholders to facilitate smooth transition from Pre-mandate to financial close and beyond into Loan Servicing. Responsible for day to day management of staff, dealing with situations consistently honestly and fairly and where necessary being the first point of contact for both positive and negative matters. Support the Front Offices on new product and servicing of the deal. Co-ordinate across Operations to ensure the deal is processed in a timely manner. Act as escalation for direct team and the wider LMO team. Utilising expert knowledge the product and market to manage syndicated Loan facilities portfolio assigned to the successful candidate. In addition to this, the successful candidate will be expected to provide expert guidance and direction to less experienced LMO staff to assist with the completion of their duties and responsibilities. This will cover all life cycle events from correct systematic capture of the facility at Financial close to the ongoing event management and servicing of the transaction post close. To verify and validate transactions created by other LMO staff to ensure precise and correct instructions are delivered to the appropriate processing areas for accurate error free execution Oversee the creation, or, give direction and guidance in the creation of control tools necessary to administer client facilities where the Bank’s systems are considered inappropriate. This will ensure all transactions processed remain within the approved parameters and agreement of the facility. Continually review and challenge processes and procedures to maximise efficiency and processes that allow highest possible facility usage with a view to maximising the revenue streams, in order to satisfy client and other stakeholder’s requirements. Ensure the creation and flow of information is accurate and timely to enable Management and stakeholders to act appropriately. Working with Head of LMO to achieve the short-term, medium-term, and long-term goals of the team. Chair monthly service meeting with each FO sector reviewing pipeline, volumes, capacity and prioritisation queues. Responsible for working autonomously to resolve operational issues as they arise, and providing, where necessary, the implementation of preventative measures to avoid reoccurrence of incidents. Build relationships throughout MUFG to establish a peer network, gather relevant information and help to ensure effective inter-departmental collaboration. Operate as product specialist providing subject matter expertise where required. Be at all times abreast and up to speed with market developments in relation to the product stream, and be instrumental in Change Management when required Education: Minimum GCSE (or equivalent) in core academic subjects A Level (or equivalent) preferred Additional language skills advantageous Work Experience: As this is a Vice President / SME position the candidate should possess: Considerable experience of working within a Financial Institution Middle Office Control function. Considerable operational experience of loan products Knowledge of all Agent roles covering Facility, Security Trustee, Collateral. Operational and administrative knowledge of the loan market. Experience in reviewing loan agreements. Experience of facilitating and chairing Lender, Borrower and Legal counsel calls in the role as Agent.
