We are looking for a confident Engineering Shift Manager to join the growing team at our client's fast-paced and highly automated distribution centre on the outskirts of Mansfield. Working closely with the Engineering Manager, you will need to not only be a strong communicator but also organised as you will be leading a team of around 15 made up of Automation Engineers and Technical Operators. You will be responsible for ensuring the schedule of planned maintenance is completed and that high standards are upheld at all times to maintain the reliability and stability of the MHE, and that breakdowns are prioritised to limit downtime. This is a position that offers variation as you will be supporting the Senior Management Team while leading the engineering team from the front, providing technical and hands-on support. Key Responsibilities for an Engineer Shift Manager
1. Attend handover meetings with the wider senior engineering team.
2. Planning and organising of the Engineering Team delegating the schedule of planned maintenance.
3. Conducting 1-1's and managing personal development plans for the team.
4. Carrying out interviews.
5. Fault finding and maintenance of automated MHE including conveyors, shuttles, totes, and robotics.
6. Respond to breakdowns.
7. Mentoring and leading the team.
8. Strong Attention to detail.
9. Management of system and equipment incidents.
10. Manage spare parts and monitor inventory and usage.
11. Strong understanding of control systems including WMS, SCADA.
12. Ensure the team are working within the H&S guidelines at all times.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience for an Engineering Shift Manager
1. Apprenticeship in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
2. NVQ Level 3.
3. Experience with leadership within an Automation environment.
4. Experience with Automated MHE.
5. Hydraulic and Pneumatic knowledge.
6. Experience with engineering stores and CMMS systems.
7. Good understanding of Microsoft Office.
8. HNC/HND would also be desirable.
Salary and Benefits of an Engineering Shift Manager
1. Salary up to £60,000 DOE.
