The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for providing support to the Shipping & Logistics Manager in the management of all resources within the FGS (Finished Goods) and GI (Goods In) area’s to maximum effect with regard to people, materials, and machines to maximum effect, ensuring that shipping target delivery dates are adhered to. They will proactively seek and facilitate continuous improvements with the department and ensure safe working and safe storage practices are in place in adherence with Health and Safety guidelines.
The successful candidate will drive high levels of employee engagement and involvement across the department through the utilisation of effective channels of communications, management and leadership and promoting an inclusive and respectful company culture.
Responsibilities include:
* Responsible for the adherence of all Health and Safety aspects of the warehousing and loading / underloading areas, including personnel, related contractors, suppliers, and customers.
* Ensure all daily checks for Propane Bottles and FLT’s have been carried out as per Safe System of Work by all warehouse personnel.
* To complete daily audits on picking and packing accuracy and targets achieved.
* Identify, complete and update Risk Assessments in line with business requirements.
* To supervise the Warehouse Operatives ensuring all processes are carried out in line with the company’s procedures.
* Management of absence and discipline for direct reports with support of line manager and HR.
* Forward calculating of loads to ensure correct transport requirements are booked for each day’s despatches / container requirements for export shipping.
* Procurement of special/non-standard export packaging materials in line with company practices.
* Daily team briefs to cover departmental SQDCG utilising a KPI board.
* Ensuring cut downs are dealt with in the correct way, finding the Root Cause and providing Stock Adjustments Forms for sign off to ensure removal from Inventory.
* Working with the Logistics Co-ordinators to ensure workloads for the coming week/period are correctly prioritised and that resources are adequately covered.
* Provide support/cover to Logistics Manager during absenteeism/holiday.
* To lead by example in safe working practices and to ensure that all direct reports fully comply with all company and legislative Health & Safety requirements.
* Develop and maintain Standard Work documents for all processes within the FGS and the GI Department.
* Daily monitoring and resolving of customer concerns, pareto out root causes and implement actions to prevent re-occurrence.
* Propose and implement actions/projects that align with the business model and improve site efficiencies and safety.
The successful candidate must have at least 3 years’ experience of leading a team in a similar environment and possess excellent people management skills and the ability to develop, manage and motivate others. A positive, hands-on individual who can think strategically, applicants will be able to demonstrate initiative, drive and a strong desire to achieve results through driving continuous improvement. Customer management experience would be an advantage.
