My client is looking for a positive and energy-driven individual to work within their Electrical Department.
My client enjoys delivering customer service excellence when they bring the kind of “WOW” experience to their customers. The job role involves managing electrical implementation in Data Centres in the UK and Europe.
Location: UK
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000
Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical Design & Implementation: Develop and implement electrical designs for data centre infrastructure, including power distribution, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and cooling systems.
2. System Analysis & Optimization: Evaluate the performance of existing electrical systems and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, capacity, and reliability.
3. Compliance & Standards: Ensure all electrical systems comply with relevant safety and operational standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE), as well as client requirements.
4. Project Management: Oversee electrical installations and upgrades, manage timelines, and coordinate with stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.
5. Emergency Support: Respond to electrical issues and perform troubleshooting to minimize downtime in data centre operations.
6. Maintenance & Testing: Develop preventative maintenance schedules and carry out regular testing to ensure system integrity and reliability.
7. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive records of electrical systems, including wiring schematics, load calculations, and maintenance logs.
Qualifications
1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
2. Experience: 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on data centres or other mission-critical facilities.
3. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of power distribution, electrical safety standards, UPS systems, and backup generators. Proficiency in CAD and electrical design software is a plus.
4. Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; relevant industry certifications (e.g., BICSI, Uptime Institute) are advantageous.
5. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams and document technical information.
6. Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues under pressure and in high-stakes environments.
