HGV Fleet Depot Manager\nNottingham \n£45,000 + Benefits\n45 Hours per week\n\nA fleet maintenance company who have been established for 32 years. They are passionate about putting their employees first, work out of a clean state of the art workshop and ensure their customers receive the highest standard of work. Due to their success they are currently looking for a skilled and experienced Depot Manager to join their ever-growing team.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nEnsuring that safety, quality and the environment remain at the forefront of everybody’s mind every day.
Forming part of our Health & Safety Committee; driving improvement and mitigating risks through “Near Miss Management” and reporting.\nEffectively and efficiently managing resources to deliver the high demands expected from internal and external customers.\nManaging a high performing team of Technicians, supported by efficient and effective workshop administration. Identify, plan & support development opportunities for yourself and your team.\nDriving operational performance to meet and exceed KPI expectations, through a measured approach, using data as a transit for change and improvement.\nHaving a can do, continuous improvement attitude towards the workshop and its output is essential.\nHolding an annual appraisal with the team, measuring their performance and giving them individual Goals and Objectives for the year. Holding 121’s across the team every 6 to 8 weeks (Supporting and Coaching)\nTo minimise the internal workshop costs to our fleet departments and maximise parts / labour margins to all external customers.
Engaging in the purchasing process to ensure we maintain our budgeted targets across all spend.\nTo drive the pre MOT check sheet process, thus supporting our 98% pass rate. Ensuring both MOT prep and ready to rent programs are supported as effectively as possible. To spot check the workshop for both MOT and PMI preparation.\nEffective and timely communication with all stakeholders.\nAudit the team to ensure paperwork is being completed currently and in good time.\nEnsuring that the site is secure at all times by reviewing security with the team.\nDaily Invoicing / job costing (with full support from workshop admin)\nMain Job Requirements\n\nTake responsibility for the delivery of an efficient maintenance operation in terms of cost containment, customer service levels, maintenance standards and safety performance for the depot.\nUtilising the principles of lean thinking, plan the workflow efficiently to ensure that the technicians are utilised at all times\nEnsure technicians are working efficiently within industry standard repair times and report on productivity.
Bring any issues which may affect the operational or financial performance of the workshop to the attention of the GM.\nTo control and manage the workshop administration function ensuring that job cards are completed in a timely manner and that no items are left outstanding. All inspection sheets must be completed on the portal, checked to ensure that Operators Licence requirements are met. Approved within 24 hours for completion to the customer.\nUse your experience / ability to work on your own initiative and effect cost effective safe repairs to an extremely high standard.
Each week, carry out quality re-inspections of completed maintenance work, including a review of the vehicle maintenance files.\nLiaise with customers both internally and externally ensuring good communication at all times.\nEnsure that the workshop environment is Health & Safety compliant and kept clean and tidy at all times, including conducting a daily ‘walk round’ of the entire location. You will also be responsible for the security of the workspace and vehicles on site.\nMust have a broad commercial vehicle engineering background ideally in a retail and fleet environment at a senior level.\nMust have excellent relationship skills with staff and customers.\nMust be able to demonstrate excellent leadership qualities and motivate a team of technicians whilst fully embracing staff development and training.\nAble to participate fully in structured meetings, to report on MOT pass rate, workshop performance, KPI’s, remedial actions and budgetary concerns.\nWill need to participate in a Saturday rota if and when required\nQualifications / Knowledge / Experience\n\nApprenticeship in heavy vehicle repair or equivalent (essential)\nDemonstrable experience in people and workshop management (essential)\nKPI / Data management (essential)\nLGV class 1\nCPC or prepared to work towardsIf you are an experienced Depot Manager and would like to find out more about this exciting role please send an up to date copy of your CV or call Chris at Kemp Recruitment on (phone number removed) for further information
