Apply for funding to work with overseas researchers in the State of São Paulo, Brazil.
Submit a collaborative research grant application within the remit of Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and State of São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP).
Collaborative work is governed by an agreement between UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and FAPESP.
You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for AHRC funding.
The full economic cost (FEC) of the UK hosted element of your project must be between £300,000 and £1.5 million. AHRC will fund 80% the FEC.
FAPESP will fund all justified costs for Brazilian based researchers, submitted through their SAGe system.
The maximum duration of these awards is five years.

Who is eligible to apply
UK partners
You are eligible to apply if you:
* are actively engaged in postdoctoral research
* have either a doctorate or can show that you have equivalent research experience or training
* have a level of skills, knowledge and experience that is appropriate for your proposed project
* are a member of a recognised research organisation or have an offer of support (including use of facilities) from a recognised research organisation
You must comply with our current eligibility criteria for standard AHRC research grant applications. You can find more details in section two of the

* you must be based at an eligible institution in the State of São Paulo
* before applying, you should contact FAPESP to confirm eligibility
* FAPESP will provide a confirmation letter for eligible applicants which must be attached to the application form, submitted to AHRC
* applications should be submitted simultaneously by the UK based project lead through the Funding Service, and by the São Paulo based project lead through the SAGe system
Project co-leads
Project co-leads are supported by this funding opportunity and includes international co-leads. Project co-leads (from outside Brazil), based in non-UK research organisations can be included in research grant applications and funded by AHRC as part of the project co-lead (international) policy, as per the guidance below.

Who is not eligible to apply
We do not support project studentships (funding PhD study) within this funding opportunity.
International applicants

Recipients of research council fellowships, who are initially supported as postdoctoral research assistants on research grants, are eligible to apply for new research grants but must complete their duties on the original application before starting the new award.
