We are seeking an Interim Head of HR Operations to join Birkbeck, University of London, a prestigious institution known for its commitment to diversity and excellence. This role will involve managing a dynamic team to deliver high-quality HR services across the entire employment lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the recruitment process and implement system improvements. Directly manage the HR Operations Team Leader and ensure effective team collaboration. Ensure seamless HR and Payroll integration for accurate and timely staff payments. Lead compliance efforts regarding UK Visas and Immigration. Develop Standard Operating Procedures and Service Level Agreements. Maintain standards of data accuracy and security and ensure availability of staff data for statutory reporting. Set performance targets and review team effectiveness. Participate in HR project work and service improvement initiatives. Qualifications: Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Experience in managing HR services and leading successful process improvements. A proactive, flexible approach with strong decision-making abilities. Planning skills aligned with the academic cycle, and a commitment to customer service.
