Role Overview: As the Head of Commercial, you will take overall responsibility for the development and delivery of our commercial strategy, aligning it with group and company business objectives. You will coordinate the delivery of all business development and growth objectives, maintain customer relationships, and ensure company capability and preparedness.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Leadership and Guidance: Provide senior leadership to the business development and commercial team, fostering a framework for achieving company objectives.
* Commercial Planning: Develop, implement, and continually improve commercial plans to meet company goals and contractual obligations.
* Bids and Proposals: Lead the analysis and development of bids, proposals, and prospects.
* Board Reporting: Lead the board reporting framework for assurance regarding adherence to business plans and growth objectives.
* CRM Management: Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the CRM, with sound knowledge of prospects and development strategies, including identifying potential commercial JV, merger, and acquisition targets.
* Business Planning: Contribute to the annual business planning and budget setting process, monitoring against plans and outcomes.
* Strategic Objectives: Set strategic and tactical objectives for departments and teams to deliver corporate and commercial goals.
* Market Trends: Anticipate and forecast trends and patterns of activity in the company and marketplace.
* Commercial Negotiation: Lead commercial negotiations and contract scope with new clients, maintaining lasting relationships with existing clients.
Skills and Experience:
* Proven leadership and commercial management experience in a healthcare setting.
* Experience managing commercial situations at scale.
* Experience leading and managing a department within a growing organisation.
* Detailed knowledge of healthcare regulatory matters or experience working within strict governance frameworks.
* Proven track record of performance management improvement and delivery at a senior management level.
* Ability to write and present board papers that provide high-level assurance and/or mitigations to manage any commercial risks.
* Demonstrable drive, commitment, and self-motivation.
* Willingness to attend meetings and events outside of core working hours.
* Ability to travel nationally and internationally as required.
