Can you help us champion nature’s recovery in Worcestershire? We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic wildlife advocate to play a vital role in delivering our vision of a wilder Worcestershire where there is more nature everywhere for everyone. You will lead a busy and dedicated team, providing habitat enhancement and conservation advice through our ambitious and successful Severn Treescapes and Natural Networks partnership programmes. You will help them to develop and undertake new projects and work with partners to optimise nature’s recovery through the Local Nature Recovery Strategy, landscape restoration and the planning system. Building on our past successes you’ll be in prime position to find the opportunities and help guide the projects that deliver nature’s recovery in Worcestershire. You will be working closely with partners and a wide range of stakeholders, using your biodiversity expertise to help deliver new and improved habitat across Worcestershire. This is a varied and skilled role and will require you to work on a diverse range of projects from planning applications to landscape-scale restoration programmes. You’ll have relevant qualifications and/or significant experience in, land management, ecological survey and land-use planning, excellent communication skills, demonstrable enthusiasm for wildlife, good field identification skills and a capacity to work to challenging deadlines. The role will be largely based at Worcestershire Wildlife Trust, Lower Smite Farm, Smite Hill, Hindlip, Worcester, WR3 8SZ with travel throughout Worcestershire, therefore the successful candidate will require a full driving licence.
