This is an exciting opportunity to join the talented team at Grantham District Hospital supporting the Emergency Department/ UTC team. The post-holder will provide a high quality shop floor clinical presence, together with high standards of education, training, research and audit.
The post holder will work in close co-operation with nursing, managerial and medical colleagues to provide high quality healthcare to the Trust's patients.
Main duties of the job
To see patients attending the Department, making primary diagnosis and initiating emergency treatment. This will be at middle-grade level (Senior Decision-Maker) within the department.
The Specialty Doctor is expected to work a basic standard of 11.53 programmed activities (PAs) clinical shop floor cover and 1 PA for CPD. A further 0.5 PA for attendance at meetings and teaching events. Further PA for either clinical work or SPA activities can be negotiated as part of initial job planning process.

2. Clinical leadership in the delivery of high quality emergency care.
3. Assessment, care and treatment of patients presenting to the ED.
4. A role in maintaining the four hour target for emergency access.
5. Ensuring the appropriate referral of patients to inpatient specialties or tertiary centres.
6. Liaison with clinicians and managers within and outside of the ED to address issues arising that affect the service.
7. Teaching and training at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including assessments.
8. Audit, research and quality assurance processes.

* Do you have full registration with the General Medical Council and a valid licence to practise with the General Medical Council?
* Do you have ALS/ EPALS provider status?
* Do you have MRCEM or equivalent qualification?
