Role Overview
A Senior power electronic engineering role with a focus of providing excellent customer technical support. Reporting to the Engineering Manager as part of an expanding engineering team and working closely with sales and marketing to drive sales growth by providing the best customer service and support and positioning the company as an industry leader in products and technology.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
Providing expert, in depth and responsive technical support to customers to maximise the design-in of our products into customer systems.
Conduct testing, simulation, analysis and reporting in the European Power Lab to support customers and colleagues.
Develop close professional relationships with customer engineers and managers to position thew company as the primary semiconductor partner for all customers.
Provide expert technical support to the sales and marketing team to maximise sales opportunity and drive sales growth.
Author and present papers, articles, presentations and posters in academic and industry journals, conferences and publications to support the awareness of the company as a technology leader in the industry.
Develop new test, simulation and analysis capabilities in the European power lab to support the development into a global centre of excellence for application support and market focused research and development.
Establish close professional relationships with colleagues in research and development, maintain a detailed understanding of current and future products and technology and support the development of new products.
Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience in the power electronics industry with a focus on high voltage, high current semiconductor applications.
A master’s degree (or equivalent learning or experience) in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics or related field.
Extensive experience of the intricacies of designing high power IGBT and MOSFET based converters.
Expert knowledge of high power Semiconductors and associated technologies.
A strong history of publishing articles and papers.
Wide experience of testing and analysing power electronics including the development of new test infrastructure and simulation capabilities and in depth analysis of semiconductor performance and optimisation
Expert in power electronics simulation. Experience of SPICE, PLECs and Matlab preferred
Excellent IT skills. Microsoft products essential. Labview, Python and SQL desirable
Excellent Communication skills both written and oral. At ease communicating across languages, cultures, job roles and seniority.
