We’re VIVID! –We offer a vibrant, friendly, inclusive culture that supports, develops and attracts the best people!
We’re recruiting for a Neighbourhood Officer to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37 hours a week. Although you’ll be contractually based in Basingstoke and covering the North Hampshire area, this is a remote working role, so you’ll mostly be out & about within the community in your designated patch. This role primarily covers the Rushmoor patch.
Want to know what we can offer you?
* 26 days holiday (plus bank holidays), with the opportunity to buy or sell annual leave
* A productivity-related bonus scheme to enhance your take-home
* A generous contributory pension of 6%. We’ll match employee contributions between 7% and 10%
* Life assurance paid at x 3 annual salary
* Private medical insurance
* Health care cash plan called Medicash
* Enhanced pay for maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave
* Access to counselling, legal and financial information
* Electric car scheme
* Huge variety of in-house & e-learning courses and a range of coaching and mentoring programmes
Here’s the facts about the role:
As a neighbourhood officer, you’ll be the main contact for your customers within your patch. As their go-to person, they can talk to you about a range of matters in relation to their tenancy conditions, health and safety issues, rent/service charges, repairs and more.
The overall aim of this role is to help create attractive, safe and sustainable communities for our customers to live in. As part of this, you’ll make sure we offer them good quality and ‘value for money’ services. You’ll soon get to know and understand who our customers are and be able to identify the support they may need to keep their tenancies. You’ll also recognise when you’ll need to make referrals to the tenancy support team, so that things are put in place for customers to keep & maintain their tenancies.
We’re looking for someone who has a strong customer focus who can confidently handle challenging customers and any neighbour disputes. Resilience, assertiveness, and the ability to work under pressure are important in this role. You’ll have demonstrable experience of working with the general public face to face, or in a public services environment. If you have knowledge (and experience) in housing management/law then that’s a bonus, though we’re really keen to encourage people from a variety of backgrounds who can apply a range of transferable skills, and a fresh approach to how we deliver a great customer experience.
You’ll need to have a full current driving licence with access to a vehicle. But don’t worry - mileage for part of your travel will be reimbursed each month so you’ll not be out of pocket! While you'll have a designated patch, all neighbourhood officers are expected to occasionally provide cover/support to other areas when needed.
This offer is subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
Interviews are due to take place Tuesday 26 November.
