West Hertfordshire community respiratory service provided by CLCH is looking for a Band 7 Tuberculosis Nurse Specialist. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic forward-thinking TB nurse to join our friendly team. The post holder will work in the community-based TB service within West Hertfordshire and be based at Hemel Hempstead Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The role includes supporting and monitoring patients on Active TB, Latent TB, NTM, and TB contact tracing screening, including Mantoux testing. Supervision of treatment including directly observed therapy (DOT).
The post holder will work closely with UKSHA developing relationships and presenting at Cohort Reviews as well as working closely with the Acute Respiratory physicians at Watford Hospitals Healthcare Trust.
They will work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and demonstrate effective communication skills is essential.

Education/Qualification
Essential
* RN Level 1 registration with the NMC
* Post registration qualification in tuberculosis or equivalent experience
* Teaching/Mentorship qualification or equivalent experience
* Possession of a degree or equivalent
Experience
Essential
* Post registration experience working with TB patients.
* Experience of TB contact tracing
* Demonstrates ability to develop new initiatives.
* Demonstrates ability to adapt to change.
* Experience of working within a community setting
* Experience of undertaking directly observed therapy
Skills and Knowledge
Essential
* Good effective communication skills, verbally and in writing.
* Evidence of expertise in clinical skills
* A working knowledge of clinical governance and evidence-based practice
* Ability to perform Mantoux testing and result interpretation.
* Sound working knowledge of guidelines in the field of TB care
* Excellent documentation skills
* Computer skills i.e. Word, databases, email, internet
