Role Overview
As Senior Food and Beverage Supervisor, you will assist the Food and Beverage Manager in the supervision of casual staff and the delivery of an efficient and high-quality bar/bistro service. You will supervise the service of food and drink, manage stock and cash control, and work closely with kitchen colleagues to deliver a first-class dining experience.
Your ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure, along with your strong customer service skills, will be essential. You will also ensure compliance with all aspects of health, safety, and hygiene standards.
Areas of Involvement
We are recruiting in two areas:
Darwin
Darwin Conference Suite is our all-year-round flexible conference venue, suitable for events accommodating 40-300 guests. This role involves working closely with the Darwin Catering team, bringing variety to your catering role.
K Bar
Located at the heart of the university campus, K Bar serves as a vibrant social hub for students. The bar offers a selection of beverages and hosts a range of events and activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist the Food and Beverage Manager in the day-to-day running of the bar.
2. Oversee, train, and guide the front-of-house team, leading by example.
3. Ensure the highest standards of customer service are maintained at all times.
4. Manage inventory, order supplies, and monitor stock levels.
5. Assist in creating and implementing innovative drink menus and special promotions.
6. Work alongside student groups and societies to create a memorable student experience.
7. Maintain compliance with all health and safety regulations.
What Will You Bring?
1. Experience supervising bar and catering staff in a high-volume environment.
2. Willingness to work flexibly.
3. Health and safety/risk assessment knowledge.
4. Experience in creating rotas and organizing work schedules.
5. Knowledge of EPOS and stock management systems.
