About the role:
As a Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant, your role will be instrumental in supporting boosters and interventions for children who need a bit of extra help. You’ll work closely with the class teachers to assist students with SEN needs and those who are falling behind in their studies, ensuring they stay on track and build their confidence. You’ll also play a vital role in helping students who speak English as an Additional Language (EAL), making your experience in this area highly valued.
Your day-to-day duties will include supporting students in small groups or one-on-one settings, assisting with classroom activities, and helping maintain an inclusive, encouraging learning atmosphere. This role is perfect for someone with a nurturing attitude and a passion for helping young learners overcome challenges.
Application Requirements:
• Experience working with KS1 students, particularly those with SEN or EAL needs.
• A patient and caring approach to supporting young learners.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support teachers in delivering high-quality education to KS1 students.
• Assist students with mild to moderate SEN needs and those requiring academic interventions.
• Provide tailored support to EAL students, helping them engage fully in the classroom.
• Help plan and implement boosters and interventions for students falling behind.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
