MERITUS are recruiting for Quality Assurance Engineers to join our client in Reading on an initial 6 month contract to work within the Nuclear industry. PLEASE NOTE: Candidates eligible for the role MUST have Nuclear experience and MUST be eligible for SC Clearance.
QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER - INSIDE IR35 - £NEG - 6 MONTHS - NUCLEAR - READING - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW PROCESS
The Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer - Nuclear is responsible for ensuring that customer standards are fully understood and adhered to in order to meet traceability requirements for nuclear contracts. This role will involve overseeing the QA requirements of each assigned contract, leading QA efforts, including discussions with customers, establishing QA systems, conducting inspections, reviewing and approving documentation, and collaborating on the design and assembly processes. The QA Engineer will frequently inspect electrical control panels, advise Project Managers and the team on QA-related matters, and assist in maintaining quality records, particularly lifetime quality records. Experience in the nuclear supply chain or other highly regulated industries is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
* Actively collaborate with project staff to drive continual improvement in Quality Assurance performance.
* Assist in defining and implementing QA requirements for new projects, ensuring they are understood, communicated, and met by both our client's and suppliers.
* Develop and maintain Quality Assurance documentation in accordance with customer build and lifetime quality record requirements.
* Work closely with customers and nominated inspectors to review products and quality records.
* Conduct internal and second-party audits to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
* Liaise with clients regarding QA matters and attend client meetings as necessary.
* Participate in the approval and monitoring of suppliers and contractors used within the company or on client sites.
* Support suppliers in the development of processes and Manufacturing Inspection Test Plans to meet customer specifications.
* Contribute to the QESH function, providing business development support for pre-qualification and tender processes.
* Responsible for producing and organizing lifetime records, ensuring Inspection and Test Plans are completed and adhered to.

Desirable Requirements:
* Experience with QC grade 1 projects.
* Knowledge of NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) for weld and paint inspection.
* Familiarity with RCC-E (Nuclear Engineering Requirements).
