SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
1. Project Electrical Technician for Offshore Services Projects
2. £33,600 per annum basic, OTE up to £62,000 per annum with overtime/overseas uplift
3. Based at our Offshore Services office in Middlesbrough, UK with regular travel worldwide
Mammoet Offshore Services specialise in loadout and installation large and heavy structures in marine and offshore environments. The role of an offshore services project technician is to work as part of a team and support in safe and successful setup and execution of multi discipline projects involving ballasting systems, winches, hydraulic jacking, skidding, and lifting equipment on a wide range of projects in the UK and (majority) overseas. Our project sites range from mining projects in Northern Canada to working offshore in the Persian Gulf and onshore fabrication yards in the far east.
The ideal applicant will have relevant marine or industrial experience and should be willing to travel and work abroad and offshore. Please note, this role is a permanent position and we are not looking for contractors or candidates looking for temporary work.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
4. Unpacking, setup, istallation, operation and maintenance of Mammoet Offshore Services equipment including but not limited to strand jacks, diesel driven hydraulic power unites, ballast pumps, winches, hydraulic jacks and weighing equipment on project sites.
5. Wiring and testing of electrical systems (both new installations and refurbishment).
6. Repair and fault finding of electrical systems.
7. Rigging and general lifting of equipment.
8. Support packing and unpacking of containers in accordance with detailed packing lists.
9. Complete post operation equipment maintenance checks.
10. Maintenance, preparation and packing of equipment in the Middlesbrough yard in readiness for mobilisation to a project.
11. Travel to a wide range of project sites worldwide both onshore and offshire.
12. Reports directly to the Foreman and Supervisor on site and the personnel planner in the office.
13. Reading, understanding and working to site and project specific method statements, risk assessments, ITP's and engineering drawings.
14. Filling out project documentation such as but not limited to: equipment pre-use check sheets, maintenance records, daily site reports.
15. To ensure all work is carried out in accordance with legal, company and client safety regulations, risk assessments and method statements.
16. Ensure compliance with and proactively promote safe working principles, good working practises, wearing of correct PPE, good housekeeping, reporting of safety observations, near misses and incidents.
17. Proactively participate in the companies in house training scheme for our specialist equipment as well as relevant third party courses.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Essential:
18. Electrical City & Guilds, ONC, NVQ Level 3 or similar qualification
19. Working with low voltage and ELV systems and experience with their applications
20. Ability to wire and test electrical systems, read and understand electrical schematics, troubleshooting and fault finding
21. Willing and capable to learn operation and maintenance Mammoet's specialist equipment
22. Willing to travel and work within and outside of the UK for extensive periods including some offshore working
23. Current valid driving licence
24. Current valid passport (no restrictions)
Desirable:
25. HNC or higher in electronic/electrical engineering or similar
26. PLC controller equipment, VB6, C and C++ programming experience in a similar role
27. Current offshore medical and survival certificate and OPITO MIST
28. Industry related general certificates such as CPCS Slinger-Signaller, Lift Supervisor, Forklift Truck, Telehandler, CCNSG Safety Passport, Abrasive Wheels, IPAF, Working at Height
