The Role: We are currently recruiting for an Calibration Engineer to join our Metrology team, at our site in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. You will be responsible for performing tasks contributing to the calibration, maintenance, repair, installation and verification of scientific instrumentation and laboratory equipment. You will join a team of 9 people in Harrogate, where excellent training and on-boarding will be given to you. This means that applicants with no direct experience of this work environment will be considered provided they have acquired skills that are considered transferable to a regulated environment. Job Responsibilities - Perform routine (scheduled preventive maintenance, installations and calibrations) and non-routine (repair) procedures in support of scientific Instrumentation and laboratory equipment for a given site. - Collect, compile, measure, summarize and record data developed during performance of routine and non-routine maintenance activities. - Work with computer-controlled instrumentation and the associated software applications. - Act as a subject matter expert (SME) of scientific instrumentation and laboratory equipment. - Provide metrological support for projects. - Manage quality events utilizing an electronic quality management system (QMS) for audit findings or quality issues. - Perform assignments with strict adherence to written standard operating procedures where required. - Access and use all sources (e.g., manuals, tech support, internet, peers) for needed technical information needed to support laboratory instrumentation and equipment. Education: - Educated to a minimum of A-level (or a similar educational standard) or with some experience in a technical role or regulatory environment. - Good computing skills essential, owing to the nature of the role.
