We are seeking a passionate and skilled SEND Teacher to join our specialist school in Mid-Cornwall. About the Role
As a SEND Teacher, you will:
1. Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), complex learning difficulties, and communication needs.
2. Create a nurturing and structured learning environment that supports pupils’ emotional, social, and academic development.
3. Work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and other support staff to provide holistic support tailored to each pupil.
4. Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching strategies to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum.
5. Promote positive behaviour management and use a range of strategies to support pupils with complex needs.
6. Foster strong relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent SEND teaching qualifications.
Experience in teaching pupils with SEND, ideally in a specialist or inclusive setting.
A creative and adaptable approach to teaching, with the ability to personalise learning.
Strong knowledge of differentiation strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A compassionate, patient, and resilient nature.
Experience working with pupils with ASD, complex learning needs, or communication difficulties (desirable).
