Caring and compassionate support worker required to provide support to service user in their own home. Service user requires one to one support on part time bases for the following set days:
1. Tues - 11am-2pm
2. Wed - 11am-2pm
3. Thurs - 10am-3pm

The individuals we support have diverse needs, so our carers are expected to provide personalized care tailored to each person's preferences. The care provided should be of the highest quality, adhere to best practices, ethical standards, and align with Fairbrook Healthcare's policies and procedures. Carers should encourage service users' independence whenever possible while supporting their personal interests and hobbies. Additionally, carers are expected to continuously enhance their skills and knowledge by participating in ongoing training and development courses focused on safeguarding practices and adult social care.
Key responsibilities:
1. Providing personal care and support with activities of daily living such as washing, dressing, using the toilet, eating and drinking.
2. Assisting individuals with mobility, movement and transfers.
3. Medication administration.
4. Assisting with meal preparation and dietary requirements.
5. Supporting with domestic tasks such as cleaning.
6. Adhering to health and safety standards and ensuring that service users live in a clean and safe environment.
7. Promoting and enhancing individuals' independence and supporting individuals to access the community, social and leisure activities.
8. Documenting the care delivered and maintaining up to date records of completed activities, medication administration and any incidents.
9. Following all relevant safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety of vulnerable adults.
10. Reporting any safeguarding concerns to relevant professionals in a timely and appropriate manner.
11. Working collaboratively with service users, their family members, other team members and other professionals to ensure high standards of care.
12. Carers must be able to communicate effectively with service users.
13. Carers must have the communication skills to inform colleagues, management and professionals about the needs of service users.
14. Carers to have good problem-solving skills and be able to adapt and address situations quickly.
Person Specification:
1. Experience in care and willingness to undertake further training.
2. Experience of working in adult social care settings such as domiciliary services, hospitals and care homes.
3. Previous experience in a similar role, such as personal care assistant or support worker (desirable).
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
5. Building rapport with service users.
6. Experience of working with individuals with dementia and behaviour management skills.
7. Ability to build strong rapport with candidates and other team members.
8. Strong ability to demonstrate empathy and provide respectful and dignified care.
9. Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
10. Knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety protocols.
11. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with individuals, families, and professionals.
