We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join an established facilities team within a reputable school.
This role involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks across the sites, ensuring the optimal functionality and safety of the facilities. The successful candidate will be a reliable tradesperson who takes pride in their work and can operate both independently and as part of a team.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Carry out routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and general repairs.
* Conduct preventive maintenance on infrastructure, equipment, and systems.
* Respond promptly to maintenance requests and address issues such as leaks, equipment malfunctions, and structural damage.
* Assist in setting up for events and functions, including moving furniture and equipment.
* Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot problems to determine appropriate solutions.
* Perform minor maintenance tasks such as plastering, painting, decorating, and joinery.
* Ensure all work is completed to a high, professional standard and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Use Facilities Management Software to manage and close out maintenance requests.
* Support the smooth operation of school functions and open mornings, with some overtime required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a skilled tradesperson.
* Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting and working at height.
* Good communication skills and proficiency in English to ensure clear understanding of safety and operational instructions.
* Confidence in using IT software, including Microsoft Office 365.
* Valid Driving Licence is essential; Category D1 is desirable.
* Experience in an educational environment and knowledge of heating systems and building management systems are advantageous.

Shift Pattern:
* Alternating shift patterns during school term and regular shifts during school holidays.
* 40 hours per week - Earliest start time is 7:30am and latest finish is 7:30pm
