Full time starting salary is normally in the range £35,880 to £45,163 with potential progression once in post to £47,874. The Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO) exists to support the University of Birmingham’s academic and student community by engaging, inspiring, and celebrating alumni, individuals, and charitable funders who give their money, time, and networks to support the University’s strategic priorities. The Office, which is comprised of five teams, is focused on fundraising and volunteering from alumni, organisations and individuals who are passionate about changing lives, through funding various research trials, supporting student bursaries, mentoring students, and providing internships. This new role in DARO will lead on providing insight and intelligence utilising reporting tools to guide, influence and drive strategic and operational activity. Long-term, the role will lead on the development, delivery and maintenance of a suite of live reports (using PowerBI). In the short term, the role will produce regular static reports on key KPIs and metrics whilst working with the Head of CRM, Data and Insight to develop the capabilities of CRM and related integrated systems in readiness for BI reporting. The role will also be responsible for developing skills across DARO to utilise the functionality of PowerBI whilst building an understanding of the importance of data as an asset through analytics and reporting. Alongside this, the role will provide direct support to stakeholder teams through the provision of complex queries and data support to enable key DARO activity such as fundraising campaigns and mailings. This role will therefore require a robust combination of adaptable technical proficiencies, data storytelling techniques, and relationship building and communication skills. Main Duties Analysing and Reporting: Responsible for delivery of strategic and accurate reporting and insight, initially focusing on the provision of static reports which may be required by SLT or other stakeholders across DARO before moving to the development of PowerBI reporting Working with Head of CRM, Data & Insight, design an efficient and effective suite of PowerBI reports based on gathering insight requirements, understanding strategic aims and the needs stakeholder teams / SLT. Aim to build a suite of reports that minimises repetition, maximises PowerBI functionality. Required Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience Educated to Degree level (or equivalent qualifications) or relevant experience in fundraising or business data analysis.
