Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Children's Residential Support Worker to work full time based in a Children's home in Glossop.
The salary for this permanent Residential Support Worker job is up to £27,087.12
Main Duties:
1. Support, assist, provide guidance and boundaries for looked after children and young people, in a safe and stable residential environment, on an individual and group basis.
2. Work collaboratively with other team members to actively safeguard, promote the welfare and advocate on behalf of children and young people to ensure that the quality of care is consistent with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations and Quality Standards 2015, and the Home's Statement of Purpose.
3. Lead by example with outstanding safeguarding practice.
4. Liaise with senior management and external parties such as Local Authorities, schools, health, and other professionals to achieve best outcomes for residents.
5. Ensure that the Home's policies and procedures are implemented effectively and that resources are managed appropriately.
6. Actively promote the Home's equal opportunity and anti-discriminatory practices.
7. Ensure each young person's care plan is implemented effectively, addressing their care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs.
8. Deliver a high standard of childcare practice and always exercise appropriate control over children and young people, maintaining the security and ethos of the Home.
9. Record all significant observations and contribute to the ongoing assessment of children and young people's needs through participation in team, childcare planning, and review meetings.
10. Work professionally, in partnership with parents, families, carers, and other professionals to advocate for, safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
11. Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality as per the prevailing data protection legislation and Company's policies and procedures.
Requirements of this job:
1. Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification or equivalent, or willingness to undertake this.
2. Full manual driving license.
3. Good standard of education.
4. Ability to show leadership skills.
5. Experience of managing budgets.
