EHS Projects has an excellent track record with our longstanding and growing client base in the food & drink, chemical, engineering, waste, and aviation industries. We act as a critical partner with several multisite operators and are embedded in the operations of a number of our longstanding clients. All of our H&S focussed consultants work in a multidisciplinary across several technical fields.
Purpose
We are seeking to appoint a Sheffield based Senior Health and Safety / SHE Consultant to expand our team. The role is based from the Sheffield office, with significant time on client sites. Work at home flexibility offered when circumstances require. It is essential for applicants to have a minimum of two years’ experience of H&S consultancy, or regulatory work or in professional SHE role. Experience of legal compliance auditing, management systems auditing, or corporate auditing is essential. Further experience in process safety, machinery safety (PUWER), as a CDM Principal Designer or environmental consultancy is desirable. Experience in these desirable areas can lead to higher salary offering. We take pride in meeting our clients on site and understanding their businesses on the ground. All of our consultants travel within the UK and can spend nights away. We are open to part-time or full-time applicants; we can discuss the working pattern that works for you.
Essential Skills / Experience
1. At least two years of experience of H&S consultancy, regulatory work or in a professional EHS role.
2. NEBOSH General Certificate and working towards NEBOSH Diploma.
3. Health and safety workplace auditing in manufacturing environments.
4. Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and SHE best practice.
5. Client-facing with strong interpersonal skills and a client-focused approach.
6. Proficient report writing skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
7. Independent diary and time management skills.
8. Valid UK driving licence, access to a car and willingness to travel across the UK.
Desirable Skills / Experience
1. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent NVQ (preferred).
2. Knowledgeable in CDM Regulations with experience as Principal Designer or equivalent.
3. Qualifications and/or experience in Process Safety work (including DSEAR and process hazard analysis).
4. Qualifications and/or experience in Machinery Safety (ISO 12100 risk assessment or PUWER).
5. Environmental consultancy or environmental management experience.
6. A degree in a safety, science, technology, engineering, or mathematics subject.
Key Accountabilities
You will:
1. Work to support the wider team of environmental, health & safety consultants and our associates to support across our operations.
2. Undertake health and safety audits with scopes including legal compliance, management systems or corporate agendas.
3. Deliver on H&S management systems support projects.
4. Work on CDM projects to support Principal Designer works such as Pre-Construction Information, Construction Phase Plans and site visits.
5. Develop and maintain partnerships with new and existing clients.
6. Show an ambition to grow and diversify the services that EHS Projects offer.
For the right applicant, further accountabilities could include:
1. Delivering on Machinery Safety (ISO 12100 or PUWER) projects.
2. Supporting specialist process safety consultants on projects related to DSEAR and process safety analysis (e.g. HAZOP).
3. Conducting SHE / environmental compliance audits.
