Location/Work Base: Brecon / Llandrindod Wells
About the role:
Under the direction of the Area Traffic Officer in the south of Powys deliver the Council’s Traffic Management responsibilities by maintaining and improving highway safety infrastructure to enable traffic to move safely and expediently around the highway network.

What you will do:
7. Under the direction of the Area Traffic Officer where appropriate take responsibility for the delivery of the Traffic Management service for Powys and where appropriate take responsibility for design, calculations, drawings, estimates, reports, risk assessments and surveys for traffic related projects.
8. Provide advice and support using your knowledge and skills in the development of bespoke design solutions. Utilise your knowledge and skills in the development of engineering design solution, during both the design period and on-site works. To include identification of site problems & constraints, risk assessments and ecological & biodiversity considerations.
9. To Manage and maintain the Authority’s Road Traffic collision database liaising with the Police Force as necessary. In addition, create and maintain other traffic related databases and mapping systems.
10. To collect interrogate, analyse and report on injury road traffic collisions or other traffic data providing data in detailed and varied media to both internal and external clients. Ensure that quality data is produced and verified to a sufficient level to ensure accuracy and appropriate payments are received where chargeable.
11. Under the direction of the Area Traffic Officer take responsibility for the delivery of the processing Traffic Regulation Orders efficiently and effectively in accordance with statutory requirements.
12. Liaise with the general public and their representatives including County and Town Councillors, statutory bodies/utilities and other authorities on traffic related matters, respond to complaints and requests or to discuss plans, policies and procedures.
