The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with young learners and dedicated to supporting them in reaching their full potential.Job Description:Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, assisting with the development of key skills and academic progress.Support the class teacher in planning, preparing, and delivering lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners.Assist with classroom management, ensuring a positive and focused learning environment.Foster students' social, emotional, and behavioural development using effective support strategies.Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and supporting individual learning plans where necessary.Help students develop independence in their learning and social interactions, encouraging them to engage with all school activities.Work closely with parents and carers to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on effective support strategies.Be an active member of the school team, attending meetings and participating in professional development opportunities.Our ideal candidate will:Have experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school (experience preferred but not essential).Be passionate about supporting children’s learning and development.Have a strong understanding of child development and how to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.Be proactive, flexible, and able to respond to the changing needs of the students and the school.Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.Be empathetic, patient, and committed to supporting children in their learning and personal growth.Have a positive, can-do attitude and be able to work collaboratively as part of a team.Hold or be willing to obtain a clear DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service).Have or be willing to undertake additional training in relevant areas such as safeguarding and first aid.If you are passionate about supporting young learners and want to make a lasting impact on their educational journey, we would love to hear from you!Supply Desk works closely with Hertfordshire Local Authority and offers a range of opportunities within the area.
