Are you an experienced Band 5 scrub nurse looking to take the next step in your career? We have an exciting new vacancy for a Band 6 scrub practitioner in Orthopaedics. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills providing leadership and clinical management advice to the multidisciplinary team. You will be expected to assist and deputise for the Band 7 in managing the day-to-day running of the operating theatre.
Main duties of the job
1. To work predominantly in the scrub role to support Theatre Sister / Team Leader(s) in leading and managing the service within the department effectively and to deputise in their absence.
2. To manage general resources, both personnel and financial, to ensure the effective operation of the department.
3. The post holder will provide skilled specialist assistance in the delivery of high-quality patient care throughout the Operating Department.
4. The post holder will be committed to providing research and evidence-based practice whilst working as part of, and leading a multi-professional team.

Training & Qualifications
* Post registration qualifications in field of expertise
* Evidence of formal teaching / mentorship training
* Aware of local and national agenda within the specialty

* Evidence of significant post registration clinical work experience including CEPOD
* Evidence of continued professional development (CPD) relevant to specialty
* Demonstrates effective leadership skills
* Evidence of supporting learners in practice
* Demonstrates knowledge of change management process
* Evidence of engagement with quality improvement projects
Skills & Ability
* Clinical skills appropriate to the relevant specialty
* Advanced communication skills including complex, sensitive, or confidential information in an appropriate manner, also to liaise effectively: to understand and disseminate multifaceted information
