About the Role
Our SEN schools in Horsham cater to students with a variety of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. Your role will involve:
1. Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups, helping them engage in lessons and develop social skills.
2. Assisting teachers with classroom activities and tailored learning plans.
3. Using de-escalation and therapeutic techniques to support students with emotional regulation.
4. Helping students build confidence and independence in their education.
5. Encouraging positive behaviour, resilience, and self-esteem.
What We’re Looking For
1. A Psychology degree (or a related subject) with an interest in education, mental health, or child development.
2. A compassionate and patient approach, with a strong desire to make a difference.
3. The ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to students’ changing needs.
4. Experience working with young people is beneficial (but not essential – training is provided!).
