About the role
St. Osmund’s C.E. Middle School is an over-subscribed Middle School for Years 5 – 8, located in the thriving county town of Dorchester. The school is proudly part of the Wessex Multi Academy Trust and is Ofsted Good in all areas (2022).
We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant to support children in the classroom with various needs to start as soon as possible for the remainder of this academic year.
This role may involve general classroom support across all curriculum areas for both Key Stages. At the moment we have a particular need with our year 5 and year 6 pupils. It may also include 1:1 support to several children as well as small group intervention work. Duties will also include supporting break and lunchtime sessions in school.
Candidates must have a good standard of English and Maths.
The role is for a fixed term up to August 2025. The contracted hours will be 29 hours per week, 8:45-15:15 Monday – Friday.

The salary quoted is the annual salary for the position at the time of advert. The salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments and will be adjusted at the start of employment and again if leaving part way through the school year to ensure the correct salary is received for the work completed in an academic year.
