Arriva UK trains are seeking a dynamic and driven Financial Analyst to join our team Reporting into the Head of Financial Analysis you will work as a finance business partner for our functional teams, whilst providing support with the wider business. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is looking to develop their skills in the Finance and Analytical space, who wants the chance to work in a fast-paced, evolving Growth Team You will also gain access to our benefits which include Free Arriva UK Train travel for you and another person What you will be doing: This individual will be supporting the team with the definition and development of the financial strategy of the Business Growth function. You will provide support with delivering the required elements of Pre-Selection Questionnaires, Expression of Interest and Request for Proposals. The Finance Business Analyst will also be responsible for analysing the business-as-usual case for target rail operations or other acquisition targets, whilst assisting with the identification and exploitation of risks and opportunities. You will contribute to the robustness of bid plans by providing financial guidance and advice. Preparation of financial and commercial information will be another key part of this role, in a timely and accurate manner to aid the team with developing the bid prices. Development of business cases will be another key part of this role, to provide insights and challenges to bid-winning initiatives. You will also be responsible for authoring and reviewing bid documents to ensure that the content is compelling and accurate. The Finance Business Analyst will contribute to the continuous improvement of the team and the Finance Bidding process. What you will need: This individual will ideally have experience with Business Case development, supporting with the financial analysis behind this. You will need to either already have or to be working towards securing an accountancy qualification, or equivalent finance qualification which includes CCAB, MBA, CFA or ACCA). This individual will need to have excellent problem-solving abilities, with a continuous improvement mind set. The Finance Business Analyst will need to have excellent emotional intelligence with fantastic listening skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people including those who work in both financial and operational backgrounds. You will need to have the ability to work with multiple data sets to produce clear, meaningful and value-adding insight and analysis and reporting. This person will need to have an agile approach to working, with the ability to adapt to the needs of a changing situation.
