As a Mutual Friendly Society, Holloway Friendly has been supporting its members at times of need for 150 years. The Society has recently recruited a new leadership team and is seeking to move forward strongly with its modern brand, new IT system, and very strong member-centric culture. We have built a brand that is challenging aspects of the UK protection market by adopting a more transparent and inclusive approach to underwriting, claims management, and product development. Our ambition is for the Society to be a respected player in its chosen market.
Our Board ensures the proper running of the Society on behalf of its members and has been recruited to provide the best strategic fit. We are now recruiting a further independent Non-Executive Director who can support, challenge, and work with other members of the Board to continue this journey.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate critical thinking with a strategic awareness, proven business acumen, and an understanding of the responsibilities and limitations of a Non-Executive Director's role. You will be an excellent communicator, personable, and willing to support the Society’s values.
Qualifications
We are looking for a finance professional with either an actuarial or financial accounting background with previous experience in any of the following:
1. a UK life protection manufacturer (life insurer, mutual insurer, or friendly society)
2. a reinsurer
3. a professional services consulting business
